ABOUT

From Laos to the world — a farm that stands beside its growers

ORIGIN

It began with soil

Our founder is a former soil scientist. Through a master’s and doctoral program he surveyed the soils around farms in Laos, and the small farm he started on the side became the origin of everything. Since then, on our own farm in Laos, we have done it all with our own hands: cultivation, processing, drying.

Ten years in the field left records of failure as well as success. Mold from a misjudged fermentation. Seedlings lost to disease and floods. Nature cannot be controlled — that is the most honest conclusion the field taught us. It is why we chose to speak in numbers, not senses alone.

ACROSS ASIA

Teach, and make together, across borders

We are not a company of one country. We work with farms in Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia, building quality across Asia. The processing and drying knowledge refined over ten years in Laos is shared with partner farms across borders — and in the start-up phase of fermentation and drying, our founder travels the countries himself.

Asian origins have long been treated as cheap material. Our mission is to challenge that — with field-earned knowledge and data.

DISCIPLINE

A small company that grows by discipline

We do not boast about scale. The Data Bank — pH, Brix, moisture, water activity and drying days measured and recorded on every lot — is the foundation of our quality, and we have decided to grow only as fast as those records can be kept complete.

“Not where it was grown, but how it was made. We want to be the company that can say it in numbers.”
